Dumex Infant Formula
Dumex, a Danone subsidiary producing infant nutrition products, required a renewable energy solution that would meet both corporate sustainability targets and the stringent hygiene standards of a food-grade manufacturing environment.
Project scope
The 236 kW system was installed across three warehouse rooftops, selected after a structural load assessment confirmed the existing steel trusses could support the additional weight. All mounting hardware received food-safe coating to prevent corrosion in the humid processing environment.
Technical highlights
We deployed 430 half-cut monocrystalline panels with optimisers at the module level, maximising yield despite varying roof orientations and intermittent shading from adjacent silos. The optimisers also enable panel-level shutdown — a critical safety requirement for the facility's fire protection protocol.
Results
The system generates approximately 330,000 kWh annually, meeting 31% of daytime production demand. Danone reports the project as a key contributor toward their 2030 carbon neutrality roadmap. Additional benefits include reduced HVAC load from shaded roof sections, lowering internal warehouse temperatures by an average of 2°C.
